Music composed and produced by Peter Weis has been placed in more than 400 television shows and over close to 3000 individual episodes of television including some of the biggest shows in TV, like: Mozart In The Jungle, The Voice, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dr. Oz, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Love and Hip Hop, What Not To Where, NCIS Los Angeles, The Next Three Days, 20/20, SNL, Wreck Chasers, A List New York, VH1’s Behind the Music Jennifer Hudson, Bully Beatdown, Surf Patrol, Great Outdoors, and New Zealand’s Next Top Model just to name a few.

Peter’s background in music began in the 3rd grade with Trumpet lessons in Elementary school. In time he began studying trumpet privately with a local Juilliard Graduate. Through high school he continued his musical development with additional private instruction, participating in various ensembles, and making weekly trips to Harlem for the Jazz Mobile Music Workshop.

Following high school, Peter entered Hofstra University as a music education major but was quickly drawn into the world of composition and arranging.  At this time he was also accepted as a member of the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop, under the direction of Jim McNeely and Manny Albam.

Shortly after his time at Hofstra University, the world of computer-based music production began to explode. Digital Audio Recording and sequencing were on the verge of taking over traditional recording techniques and pushing music production and composition in new directions. He redirected his focus to learning this new way of manipulating music and audio within the computer.

In 2001 Peter began an internship at New York city’s Soundtrack Recording Studios. It was the perfect environment for him to learn the inner workings of both the music business and the craft of mixing and production. His internship led him to a much longer position on staff as a shift manager through the next few years. He built relationships that would direct him to write production music for some of the industries most successful music libraries and television shows.

With a growing music catalog nearing 1000 registered works his music has become popular in reality shows like Love and Hip Hop, and daytime talk shows like Dr. OZ, the Oprah Winfrey show, tension-filled popular Spanish Novelas, documentaries, and more.
