The #PostADay2017 blog posts continue. One of the hardest obstacles to overcome when you are doing creative work is to just start. Even with out anything specific thing in mind you need to begin. The commitment will nurture success. You sit and you write, you see what develops, and you continue to write. Writing is not difficult. Sitting down to write is difficult. Letting go of your expectations is difficult. Writing is something to just be done. No day is a failure when you at least sit down, and type. Let the words flow as they may and go where they want, but just type something and before you know it you will have more than 100 words. When I did the #PostADayChallenge a few years ago I remember there were many days like this. 11:00 pm and only an hour to get a blog post finished. The blank page stares at you. Each character of the computer keyboard screams for your attention but you cant decide which you should attend to first. Eventually if you stare long enough the brightness of the screen dominates your field of vision and the surrounding world fades into a blur. And then you press a key. One letter turns to one word, then a sentence begins to creep from the margins, stretching to the other side of the page, and the foundation for your post beings to grow. Words wind down the page interrupted by punctuation marks. Imperfections begin to emerge. Write now. Edit later once. 250 Words later tonights post is done.
