I Finished The Stand

The Stand.

I finished reading the Stand late monday night. It is the longest thing I have ever read, weighing in a more then 1150 full size pages. If you’re thinking of reading this I would spare yourself the paperback version. This book was way to thick be tucking in your pocket. The text size would also drive you mad.  While I was reading the book I enjoyed it. The plot , King’s writing style, but most of all the charachters. By the time I reached the end of the book I felt like I had taken the journey with them. And last night when I began reading a new book that is when i missed the characters the most. As i rounded past page ten of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men my mind kept drifting thinking, what are Stu and Fannie doing? Is Randall Flagg coming to get them again? It made me wonder if King would ever write a sequal. M – O – O – N, that spells sequel. Sometimes the impact a book has on you takes a little while to sit in. The farther away I get from it the more i seem to realize how effective reading is at penetrating the sub conscious.
